I never cared for grunge and never saw Margiela as real fashion. However, I must admit...when I saw how his "rough concepts" from his own collection were reinterpreted for the conservatively dressed Hermes customer, I was forced to look deeper below the surface. And when applied with other fabrics and perhaps a tad bit of fitting or slightly recut...I found some really good ideas there that could be applied to doll fashion. I'm nearly finished with the next post which should be up in a day. april_n_parishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14548456156450662065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558646734577104063.post-4292059201201865372018-06-14T14:39:49.302-04:002018-06-14T14:39:49.302-04:00Sorry for the delay in responding. No, Margiela...Sorry for the delay in responding. No, Margiela's work was never boring...I just could never figure out why it was called "fashion." The exhibitions really enhanced his work. But before recommending this exhibition to my friends, I warned them to see this as "art" and not "fashion." Nonetheless, he was one of the most copied designer of his time. The ripped jeans which are still worn today can be attributed to Margiela! The glove top was really fun!april_n_parishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14548456156450662065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558646734577104063.post-62302307700537797082018-06-14T14:35:24.712-04:002018-06-14T14:35:24.712-04:00Well Kamelia....I admit..... I was a little intrigued by his use of "objects" transformed into clothes (like the glove bustier), but I was NEVER a fan of grunge. But I found a few really good ideas which, with other fabrics, translate into something quite lovely which you will see next. And you're right. The Barbie scaled fashions (even those I would NEVER wear myself) are always fun.april_n_parishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14548456156450662065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558646734577104063.post-50466475526373336032018-06-14T14:30:41.653-04:002018-06-14T14:30:41.653-04:00Thank you Dlubaniny. And then there was the whirlwind of seeing friends. And then there was all the rose wine....and then there was the trip back across the ocean and the JETLAG!!! Was feeling a bit burned out for a moment. But I'm back and feeling much better. april_n_parishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14548456156450662065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558646734577104063.post-38009674379744179502018-06-13T13:00:56.794-04:002018-06-13T13:00:56.794-04:00Are you ok April? But rest is just to... bizzare for me. ;)

Nevertheless I love your versions, especially the one out of gloves and with stocking boots. :)Kameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07612429999172816358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558646734577104063.post-61629510357440940572018-06-01T10:43:50.852-04:002018-06-01T10:43:50.852-04:00Well, boring his clothes were certainly not :-). But I do have a huge respect for Margiela's work, it's original and more about statements than wearable fashion I guess. Your versions are awesome, the gloves top is super!
