Happy 2018!!!

Every year, my dolls put on an annual Black & White Ball, high atop the living room piano. The dress code is simple: eveningwear or formal gowns in black, white or silver. (This is why they urge me to make everything throughout the year in black!!!)

As we watched everyone arrive, we realized that perhaps this year, we may have slightly over-invited.
 Wow! What a crowd!

Hmmm....some of these haven't been here before. I wonder if some aren't party crashers??!!! (Well, at least they knew to dress for the event! And their invitations do look legit!)
Word sure has gotten out about this annual party! Seems like almost every doll in the house is here!

Oh wait.....I totally forgot about the party upstairs.
Don't let the doll stands fool you. They'll be slipping out of those and kicking up their heels as soon as I'm out of sight!
Sure hope they keep the noise down!!!

In any case, all of my dolls wish all of your dolls.......and this doll mom wishes all of you doll moms and dads......

A Very Healthy, Happy and Fashionably Dressed Doll-filled 2018!

Love,

April & company

  4. Happy New Year! I'm very impressed with your displays, all the dolls are so fashionable and go so well together! You can even mix 16" with 12" dolls like it's no big deal and mine always look awkward when I put same sized dolls from different brands together...

    1. Thank you, BlackKitty. As you can imagine, this takes some time. After I figure out who wears what, the next step is to figure out where to place everyone so I can see them when I take the annual "family portrait." Some of the 12" dolls are standing on cups and little boxes. So by putting the 16" girls at the back, it all seems to work together. In any case, thank you for your continued friendship!

  11. I have a question, do you have any articles or advice for making a pattern for a sheath dress, but in a princess seam style instead of the usual bust and or under arm darts? I've seen this princess style & would love to try and make it! For my FR16 Hanne! Yes the same girl who asked about her boots. :) Thanks. Ps its getting tempting to purchase another FR16. Fashion dolls are very addictive!

    1. Dolls are TERRIBLY addictive! What started out as a small collection of Barbies has turned into Doll City!!!
As far as the princess line sheath is concerned.....do a search here on my blog for a post entitled, "Princess Diaries." That is a tutorial on a basic princess line dress. Instead of flaring out the side seams to create a flared dress, ignore that step and skip to the step where you join the bodice to the skirt.
